Had the steak, lamb Briyani, naan, and a chicken gravy dish (not pictured), accompanied by chai. Everything tasted great, I really enjoyed my meal. Fairly busy during lunch on a Saturday. The space is not big but it's cozy and clean. Service was good. Easy parking situation.

Came in with a party of 6 on a wed, place was maybe 1/3 full. Place is BYOB, brought our own alcohol and they'll provide cups if you ask for it Dress code: casual Food 5/5: food was delicious, we ordered the gola kebab, butter chicken, goat karhai, mutton biryani, steak, fried chicken, okra and mango lassi. Wasn't a big fan of the okra but everything else was amazing. The kabab is on the spicy side (fairly average for Indian/Asian cooking), so beware. Service 4/5: slow at time, but friendly and helpful, providing recommendations on how much food dishes. Ambiance 3/5: fairly average ambiance, plastic cups, nothing that wowed but was fairly clean. Noise level was low given number of customers that day Value 3/5: averaged out to about 30$ per person, it was nice they allow BYOB. Would say given the quality, price is worth it but wouldn't necessarily say great value, would come again Parking: fairly busy parking lot shared by a ton of shops in the plaza

My recent takeout orders from here consisting of the Lamb Shank Curry Combo, Chicken Boti Meal plus a couple Chapli patties were very delicious, juicy, tender and so aromatic. Each very different n each made so well. The lamb shank was soft and had a really good onion/ginger gravy with a couple of well-seasoned beef kabobs charred very nicely. I think these are their little Persian ground beef kabobs n they do taste better than almost every Persian restaurant version of them in Houston bc they are just too fake. Mild, but salted n oniony. I can only trust Darband and Rumi's along with the ones here for that type of kabob. The lamb was only mildly gamy and nicely fatty to the right amount without being too slimy. The chicken kabobs were very well marinated and spiced with a crispy top and soft inside. The spices were spot on. The Chapli pieces were also very good like the others and similar to a kofta kabob, ground meat with some herbs n spices in them. Very soft and pairs great with rice or naan. The rice was really fresh and prepared as was the buttery naan. Great, welcoming service on these visits as well.

Himalaya is an Indo-Pakistani staple of Houston. They have several awards and recognitions and have also been visited by Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. The mutton biryani is a great option. The meat is very tender and the dish as a whole is very tasty and well spiced. I tried the achaari chicken and hunters beef for the first time. The chicken was very soft and juicy. The pickle taste was not too strong. I've never had hunters beef before, it was an interesting option of shredded beef that was served with a mustard sauce. I would try something else in the future. The garlic naan and mango lassi are both great as well. The restaurant is not very big so expect a wait for a larger group. It's worth it. The owner is very kind and always involved. I look forward to my next meal there! I read some other reviews and noticed that the service might be inconsistent and some had rude experiences. I did notice that the workers kept trying to push more items on people when they did not ask and they did take a while to bring out drinks and utensils but everything else was good when I went.
